Pandora trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council. Before becoming an acupuncturist, she worked as a researcher in medical schools throughout London and the South West.
She uses acupuncture to treat a very wide range of conditions, including digestive and bowel problems, urinary disorders, eczema and other skin problems, migraines, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, arthritis, pain of all kinds, swallowing disorders, tennis elbow and back pain
Pandora have a particular interest in treating women's conditions, including menstrual pain, premenstrual syndrome, irregular menstruation and difficult menopause, as well as supporting women throughout pregnancy. She uses acupuncture to treat women for morning sickness, to help promote natural labour (ie if a woman is over her due date and wants to avoid being medically induced), to turn breech babies and also to restore and maintain health and vitality after pregnancy.
Additionally, she uses acupuncture to enhance fertility for those having problems conceiving, either as a stand alone treatment, or alongside an IVF programme.
Acupuncture is a very safe and effective treatment for people of all ages. It does not just treat peoples’ symptoms but focuses on strengthening the constitution. Consequently people often say they feel better ‘in themselves’ and report increased energy and improved sleep.
During treatment, very fine needles are used to regulate the flow of energy, or 'qi'. The needles may induce a dull ache, a tingling, or a warm sensation. Most people report it to be a deeply relaxing treatment.
Treatments are usually conducted on a weekly basis. The first appointment will take about an hour and twenty minutes. You will be asked in detail about your health in order to reach a diagnosis. She will also look at your tongue and feel your pulses.
Follow up appointments take about forty minutes.
